This truck spent its early life as a fleet vehicle: dependable, regularly serviced, and built to work every day. No luxury. No shortcuts. Just miles, maintenance logs, and proven reliability. That foundation made it the perfect candidate for transformation.
At Black Dirt Overland, we don’t chase brand-new platforms or unnecessary excess. We start with what’s already been tested in the real world — and rebuild it for the road less traveled.
The Starting Point: Built to Work

Fleet vehicles are often overlooked, but they offer something rare: consistency. This truck arrived in solid mechanical condition, with a known service history and a platform designed to endure long hours and heavy loads. What it lacked was capability beyond pavement — suspension travel, power independence, and protection from the elements. Our goal was to retain its reliability while preparing it for cold climates, rough terrain, and extended off-grid travel.
Engineering the Transformation
The rebuild focused on function first. Every upgrade served a purpose — no filler, no trends.
Built for the Mountains

The finished rig is designed for cold-weather exploration — alpine passes, remote trailheads, and long stretches without services. It’s not a showpiece. It’s a tool. A vehicle built to be used, relied on, and trusted when conditions are less than forgiving.
This build reflects the Black Dirt Overland philosophy: start with something proven, refine it with intention, and create machines that are ready for real adventure.
The Result

What was once a fleet workhorse is now a fully capable expedition rig — engineered for endurance, self-sufficiency, and the kind of travel that doesn’t follow crowds or timelines.
From daily duty to distant horizons, this truck was reborn with purpose.
